Peter Zahner

Peter Zahner (born January 19, 1961 in Aarau ) is a Swiss ice hockey official . The business economist has been managing director of ZLE Betriebs AG, the operator of the ZSC Lions , since December 2007 and was previously director of the Swiss Ice Hockey Association .

career

During his playing career in the 1980s, Zahner was among others active at SC Reinach , one of his coaches there was Arno del Curto . At the beginning of the 1990s Zahner played for EHC Glattbrugg .

At that time he had already started his coaching and functionary career. From 1988 Zahner was the EHC Kloten in the youth department and as assistant coach of the men's team in the National League A operates. In 1991 he moved to the Swiss Ice Hockey Association (SEHV) and took over the management of the junior national teams. In 1995 he was promoted to sports director at SEHV and was also a trainer at EHC Winterthur during this time .

From March 2004 he switched to the position of association director at SEHV, which he held until 2007.

On December 1, 2007, Zahner moved to ZLE Betriebs AG, the operator of the ZSC Lions, as managing director . In November 2008 he also took on another office, as he was elected to the Executive Council of Swiss Olympic . In 2013 he became a member of the board of directors of the “revived” Champions Hockey League (CHL) and was elected President of the CHL in June 2018.
