Peterskirche (Langewiesen)
The Peterskirche is in the district Langewiesen of the city of Ilmenau in the cemetery in the Ilm district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Langewiesen in the parish of Arnstadt-Ilmenau of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
On the cemetery to Langewiesen standing Peter Church should be the city's oldest building. First there was a wooden church at this point in front of her. This church was first mentioned in the 15th century. In 1579 and 1635 it was destroyed and rebuilt in each case. In 1733 the church received its present form. Little is known about its eventful history.
The Peterskirche is used for funeral services and occasional church services.
