Petrocasa
Petrocasa ("petroleum house") is the name of Venezuelan single-family houses in mass production. These houses have been produced by the Corporación Petroquímica de Venezuela (Pequiven) since 2007 and are used in rural areas as part of the state housing program Misión Hábitat . The houses usually have 70 m² of living space, which is divided into three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, kitchen and dining room. The houses are assembled on site from PVC profiles and the walls are then poured with concrete. These are self-extinguishing in the event of a fire and proved to be resistant to cyclones during Hurricane Sandy in Cuba in 2012, and they are said to withstand earthquakes well. TÜV Rheinland certified in August 2009 that the PVC used was free of carcinogenic substances.
