Lists on the subject

The Peurise Awe , also Peurise Awi , is a shield from Indonesia.

description

The Peurise Awe is a version of the Peurise . It is braided from flat-laid rattan cords and often studded with hemispherical, broad-edged brass decorations . A border of more densely woven rattan is attached to the shield. This serves to stabilize the outer edge of the shield. In some versions, the outside of the sign is covered with red or black cotton fabric . The Peurise Awe is used by ethnic groups in Indonesia.
