The parsonage Scuol ( Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Vallader Chasa pravenda da Scuol ) is a monumental, historical Engadine house under the preservation order of the Canton of Graubünden . It is located in the upper village of the Lower Engadine capital Scuol .

history

The current building, used as a reformed Scuol rectory, was built in 1656 a few decades after the turmoil in Graubünden . His name was Chasa Arquint until 1876 (Arquint is an Engadine family). From 1850 to 1875 the guesthouse Zum Schwarzen Adler was housed in the house, and from 1871 to 1875 there was also a butcher's shop. In 1875 the municipality bought the house and rededicated it as a parsonage with a parish apartment and meeting rooms. At the beginning of the 1930s, the house was renovated by the architect Jachen Ulrich Könz .

Property of the parish

Since 1950 the rectory has belonged to the Corporaziun evangelica da Scuol e Tarasp (= Protestant parish [as a public corporation ] Scuol- Tarasp ). The announced private residence of the local pastor in October of that year as well as a difficult financial situation led to considerations of the conversion of parts of the building, z. B. private rental.
