Fischamend parish church
The Fischamend parish church is located in the municipality of Fischamend in the Bruck an der Leitha district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church, which is subordinate to the patronage of Archangel Michael , belongs to the dean's office in Schwechat in the vicariate Unter dem Wienerwald of the archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
The first church existed before 1074. The parish around 1100, in 1170 a pastor was mentioned in a document. Initially an own parish from 1666 belonging to the Diocese of Passau , the parish went to the Archdiocese of Vienna in 1729.
The mighty nave building was built around 1700 during the transition from early to high baroque. In 1995/1997 the outside of the church was restored.
architecture
The church stands on a plateau-shaped medieval earth fortification. The tower stands above the Gothic choir, the nave is baroque.
Furnishing
The establishment was mainly built in a classical style around 1824 to 1828.
