Nagelberg parish church

The Roman Catholic parish church of Nagelberg is elevated in Alt-Nagelberg in the market town of Brand-Nagelberg in Lower Austria . The parish church of St. Josef the worker belongs to the deanery of Gmünd in the diocese of St. Pölten .

history

In 1959/1960 the church was built according to the plans of the architect Josef Friedl and in 1960 it was elevated to a parish church.

architecture

The hall building with a gable roof has rectangular windows with folded window strips. The south facade has a wide rectangular portal above a flight of stairs. The retracted rectangular choir connects to the north. To the northwest stands a square tower with a flat pyramid roof. To the west, a square basement forms a floor leveling for the church and is used as a library.

The wide hall space has a raised choir behind a recessed rectangular opening. In the width of the choir, the nave has an elevated wooden beam ceiling on pillars and in the elevation a continuous ornamental glazed window. The gallery stands above a vestibule and on pillars and ceiling stands. The choir has a ribbed flat ceiling.

Furnishing

A crucifix hangs over a free-standing cafeteria.
