Parish church of Zemling
The Roman Catholic parish church of Zemling stands elevated on a step in the south of the village of Zemling in the market town of Hohenwarth-Mühlbach am Manhartsberg in the Hollabrunn district in Lower Austria . The church, consecrated to the Visitation of the Virgin Mary , belongs to the deanery Sitzendorf in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church building is a listed building .
history
A castle chapel of St. John mentioned in connection with a festival. In 1482 the fortress was declared destroyed. In the baroque era the church was used as a pilgrimage church. In 1767 the baroque extension to the west took place. In 1784 the church was elevated to a parish church. 1982 was a restoration.
architecture
A late Baroque central room with a façade tower, protruding from the side, adjoins the hall, which is essentially medieval in Baroque style.
Furnishing
The earlier organ, built around 1909 by Franz Capek, was replaced by a new one with 5 registers by Friedrich Heftner. Ferdinand Drackh (1731) cast two bells .
