Plant fleece

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A plant fleece is used universally in gardens , as frost protection, as protection from birds , as a cover from moisture and wind.

In order to provide young plants with the optimal protection they need, plant fleeces are required. These are very light and therefore do not burden the tender young plants in particular. They can be laid on loosely and are also UV- resistant.

There are special types of plant fleece such as B. Tomato tubular fleece, which are simply placed over the tomato plants and thus protect them from too much moisture or wind.

A warm climate that is conducive to growth develops inside the fleece, very similar to that in a small greenhouse. Some fleeces are also highly effective against insects , as well as when there is a risk of premature harvest due to weather conditions . For this purpose, early harvest hoods and frost protection hoods are particularly suitable, which can be put over the plant if necessary and thus protect it not only from frost, but also from snails and birds.
