Phidaleia ( Greek  Φιδάλεια ) is a female figure in Greek mythology .

As the wife of Byzas in his absence, she is said to have successfully defended the city ​​of Byzantion named after him against the Scythian king Odryses by throwing snakes at the attacking army.
According to another mythological version, she was a daughter of Barbysses who, after union with Byzas, threw herself into the sea out of shame and fear of her father and became a rock that has since borne her name.
