Philo (saint)
Philo († around 150 ) was a deacon and companion of Bishop Ignatius of Antioch . Philon is venerated as a saint together with Agathopodes .
According to Ignatius, Philo came from Cilicia . He was a deacon in Tarsus and a regular companion of Ignatius. Agathopodes, a deacon in Antioch, also accompanied Ignatius occasionally. Both deacons are said to have traveled with Ignatius to Rome , where the bishop was martyred. Philon and Agathopodes are said to have brought his bones back to Antioch.
The feast day of Philon and Agathopod is April 25th .
