Phonism

As Phonismen (Gr.) Refers to sound sensations represented by light caused.

Just as, according to Bleuler and Lehmann, certain color ideas arise in individual people through sound sensations ( photisms ), so conversely, sound sensations arise through light impressions.

Such phonisms have attempted to explain the often described northern lights noise (see polar lights ).
