biography

Phumaso & Smack (bourgeois Thomas Egli and Ariel Hasler) met at a gig . Both had experience with rap and so they started as a rap duo in 2006. Together with the beat producer Shocktraderz, they released their first album Post Scriptum in 2009 . This was followed by the free album Besser isches , the album Artikel 16 and the EP Operation Megaphon , which they recorded together with C.mEE. At the end of April 2013 they published Wurzle & Chrone and achieved the best placement of a Swiss digital-only album with 6th place in Switzerland. At Slang Night 2012 they won the Swiss Hip Hop Music Award for best rap combo.

Wurzle & Chrone is the first Top10 digital-only album in Switzerland. They currently hold the record for the highest chart placement achieved with a digital-only release.
