Physical Markup Language

The Physical Markup Language (PML) is an XML -compliant description language for the content of via the EPC network (EPC: electronic product code, Electronic Product Code ) information exchanged. PML is a standardized "language" for storing data about objects that can be read by both humans and machines. This allows information about time, place and environmental conditions as well as about the owners of objects to be saved.

The Physical Markup Language was designed by the Auto-ID Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as part of their RFID system.
