Physioswiss

Physioswiss is a Swiss physiotherapy association. It represents the interests of more than 10,000 self-acquired, employees and aspiring physical therapists and organizations of physical therapy and no longer active physiotherapists in Switzerland. Founded in 1919 as the Swiss Physiotherapy Association , it claims to be the largest professional agency for physiotherapists in Switzerland. 16 cantonal and regional associations are affiliated to the association. The office is located in Sursee .

organization structure

  • The assembly of delegates is the supreme body of Physioswiss . The delegates are each elected by the 16 cantonal and regional associations.
  • The conference of presidents consists of the elected presidents or another elected board member of the individual cantonal and regional associations. It serves as a mutual exchange as well as an opinion-forming platform among the cantonal and regional associations and acts as a decision-making body.
  • The central board is the strategic management and steering body.
  • The association operates an office in Sursee . The current 15 employees advise members on billing and tariff issues, answer general questions, questions about labor law and social security and take orders for articles, printed matter and information material. The office also implements the resolutions of the strategic committees and supports them in developing strategies.
  • Commissions and project groups are responsible for planning and implementing the association's activities.

aims

The association wants high quality physiotherapy services. The association is involved in the fields of education and training, research and ethics. Physioswiss advocates a fair price, positions itself in health and education policy and represents physiotherapy in public and supports physiotherapists in positioning themselves on the health market.

Events

Every year the association holds an assembly of delegates, an annual conference and a meeting of chief physiotherapists. Every two years, this also has the National Physiotherapy Congress and also every two years which is the day of Physiotherapy celebrated as part of a campaign. Physioswiss organizes an education and entrepreneur forum at irregular intervals. With the exception of the campaign for Physiotherapy Day, the events are primarily aimed at members.

Publications

The specialist journal Physioactive is the association journal and appears six times a year. The subscribed edition is 9,000 copies. As a lobbying instrument Physio Swiss also published four times a year, the physio Facts , an information letter for parliamentarians to physiotherapy .

Memberships

In an international context, the association is a member of the World Association of Physiotherapy (WCPT), the European Regional Association of the WCPT (ER-WCPT) and the subgroup of self-employed physiotherapists of the WCPT (IPPA).
