Pieke (unit)

Die Pieke , franz. Pique , rarely pike , was a measure of length outside of Germany . The name goes back to the pikemen armed with pricks. The stock length of the weapon corresponded to this dimension. In the Königlich Preuss. Army the Uhlans were armed with pricks.
