Pieksänmaa [ ˈpiɛksænmɑː ] is a former parish in eastern Finland. It included the area around the city of Pieksämäki in the Lake District landscape Savo .

The municipality Pieksänmaa was created in 2004 from the merger of the rural municipality Pieksämäki (Finnish: Pieksämä maalaiskunta ) with the municipalities Jäppilä and Virtasalmi . On January 1, 2007, Pieksänmaa merged with the town of Pieksämäki to form the town of Pieksämäki.

The municipality Pieksänmaa had an area of ​​1,788.17 km² (of which 249.40 km² inland waters) and most recently around 8,500 inhabitants. It included the villages of Heikkolankangas, Hietamäki, Jäppila, Kantala, Karjala, Kirkonkylä, Kontiomäki, Kylmämäki, Maavesi, Mataramäki, Neuvola, Nikkarila, Niskamäki, Nykälä, Pitkäsmäki, Pyhitty, Sarköyiemäki, Punikanhöi, Punikaniemäi, Punikaniemäi, Punikaniemäki, Punikanhöi, Punikaniemäki Vehmaiskylä, Venetmäki, Venettekemäranta, Vilhula and Virtasalmi.
