Pinlock visor
A pinlock visor is a double visor on a motorcycle helmet . A second, smaller plastic disc is pinned to the main visor. Thanks to the special coating, the construction prevents the visor from fogging up due to the breath, especially in cold weather. Pinlock visors are mainly found in full-face helmets suitable for year-round use in the middle and upper price segment, partly as additional equipment, partly also as standard. Retrofitting is also possible.
The drawbacks of the advantage of anti-fogging are the double refraction of light due to the additional pane, edges and fastening elements in the peripheral area of the field of vision, as well as the risk of visual impairment if moisture or foreign bodies get through the seal between the two panes.
