Pirando

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pirando was a daily children's program on Swiss radio DRS 1 . Pirando could be heard on DRS 1 from March 3, 2008 to August 29, 2010 every day from 7 to 8 pm. It was launched with the relaunch of the DRS 1 program. The broadcasts used to be half an hour on weekdays (SiggSaggSugg) and on Sundays a full hour (looping) and a quarter of an hour (children's club).

When Schweizer Radio DRS and Swiss television SF were merged to form SRF , Pirando was replaced on August 30, 2010 by the new tri-media program Zambo , with the broadcasting time, most of the moderators and some categories being retained for the radio program .

subjects

With the new program, children up to the age of 12 were given the opportunity to listen to the radio. There were the following subject areas:

  • Monday: story and posts
  • Tuesday: story and posts
  • Wednesday: story and discussion of current affairs with children's reporters
  • Thursday: History and "Hitpirando" the hit parade for children. Via the website you could vote which song would be played.
  • Friday: story and posts
  • Saturday: Pirandopoly was the game show you can take part in by phone. You moved on a playing field that was visible on the website.
  • Sunday: longer story and mix of music was the replacement for the ear brooder who previously played a short music excerpt whose title and performer could be guessed. Two songs have now been superimposed. The music mix was later replaced by questions about the current radio play, where the same prizes could be won.

Moderation

Moderators included Magnus Renggli, Susanne Eberhart, Patricia Banzer, Patrick Stöpper, Sandra Büchi and now and then Mike La Marr.

Community

Under 15-year-olds could register on the program's website and participate in a Swiss-wide community. There was a chat ("chat box"), you could blog and exchange messages. Pirando was considered to be one of the safest communities, because the identity of each user was checked by telephone before the profile was activated and the user was able to carry out various virtual activities on the website. The community gave many children the chance to take part in creating the radio. So every user could vote for the best song of the week at "Hit-Pirando" every day. When Pirando was replaced by Zambo in 2010, users were able to import their profiles into the new community. At Drspirando.ch you could apply to be a "child reporter". They had the opportunity to help shape the program with their own contributions such as interviews or background reports.

Award

DRS Pirando won the renowned Zurich Radio Prize in 2008. The Board of Trustees justified its decision by stating that the program is multimedia and that it is aimed at the radio audience of the future with an imaginative, informative and entertaining offer.
