Pivot Stickfigure Animator

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pivot Stickfigure Animator is a simple, picture-by-picture stick figure animator, which was programmed by Peter Bone using the Delphi development environment . The stick figures are moved by so-called pivot points, after which a button is activated that creates a new image. Then you move the stick figure again, create a new picture, move the stick figure, etc. This principle saves the user from having to draw the pictures again and again, as is usual with EasyToon or Adobe Flash .

The software is easy to use and free of charge. a. used in school lessons.

Features

Version 2.24, the last public release , allows users to create their own stick figures, save them in STK format and publish them on the Internet. The stick figures themselves can be enlarged and reduced, placed in a higher or lower level, moved in all directions and also have different colors. Backgrounds in JPEG or BMP format can be inserted and used in the animation. Animations created with the program can be saved in PIV format (can only be read by the animator) and GIF format. Normally the "directors" save the animations as GIF, so people who do not own the program can watch the animations. Animations that have been saved as PIV can be reloaded and edited in the animator, which is not the case with GIF images.

A newer version, version 3.1 Beta , was offered in the MSN group of the programmer, but it no longer exists. Version 3.1 still contains some bugs , but the author wanted to eliminate these in the final version. However, there is unlikely to be an official new version of the animator. A pivot fan community translated the animator into German and changed the design. However, these versions do not have any new functions.

In version 3.1 it was planned to be able to save the animations not only as GIF and PIV, but also in the film format AVI . It also has the new option to insert so-called sprites into the animation. That means you can insert any BMP file you want, rotate, enlarge, move and use it like the stick figures in the animation. The background options have also been changed. You can now load not just one, but several backgrounds and let them change during the film via a menu. The default stick figure has also been improved, it now has an additional pivot point and a head filled in black.

On January 20, 2013, after a long break, version 4 was released as a beta on the new website that had been created recently. With a visually modernized user interface, the new animator offers, for example, functions such as transparency, the connection of several figures and the ability to fill circles.
