Plantation German Evern

The plantation German Evern is Germany's oldest farm for strawberries in German Evern in the Lueneburg Heath . It was founded in 1891 by Georg Soltwedel and became known for breeding the Deutsch-Evern variety (1902), which was the most widely grown early strawberry variety in Europe until 1950.
After Peter Stückrath took over management in 1960, 17 new strawberry varieties were created. The most successful among them were Famosa , Bromba , Finessa and Laroma . The cultivation area is approx. 35 hectares .
