European Promise Place

The place of the European promise in Bochum was created in 2004 in front of the Christ Church based on a design by the artist Jochen Gerz . Plaques with the names of citizens who stand up for Europe were embedded in the floor of the square. The project cost several million euros. The square was inaugurated in 2016. The first cracks in the plates were noticeable in 2017.
