Plon is a French publisher founded in 1852 by the Walloon Henri Plon (1806–1872) and his brothers Charles and Hippolyte.

At first they were a printing company (which was the first to introduce steam engines for printing purposes in France). They were given the title Libraire-imprimeur de l'Empereur and published the correspondence of Louis XIII, Marie-Antoinette and Napoléon. At the beginning of the 20th century her focus was on literature.

They were taken over by the Presses de la Cité and in 1988 by Havas. Havas came to Vivendi in 2001 . These in turn sold it to the Editis Group, which joined the Spanish Planeta Group in 2008.
