Giant Buddhas and Bodhi Tataung Pagoda

On the Po Khaung Hill near Monywa in Myanmar are some notable oversized and numerous life-size Buddha statues.

description

A 90 m long reclining Buddha was built in 1991; In its accessible interior, painted concrete figures depict religious scenes. Behind it rises the 116 m high statue of a standing Buddha called Laykyun Setkyar . An enormous seated Buddha and the Bodhi Tataung Pagoda are nearby. More than 1000 life-size Buddhas are sitting on a field, looking up at the large figures, each with an umbrella and a Bodhi tree. The entire area can be overlooked from an observation tower.
