PointScreen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PointScreen is an HCI technology developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) that enables a computer to be controlled using only gestures .

The user navigates by simply pointing; In contrast to a touchscreen , the interaction takes place completely without touch.

New technology

PointScreen technology is based on the principle of Electric Field Sensing (EFS): gestures and movement are measured and digitally recorded. This form of human-machine interaction means that gestures are used for navigation and interaction in real time. This innovative paradigm of HCI technology (Human Computer Interaction) enables contactless input systems.

Product applications

PointScreen is used in public spaces - for example as a point of information at trade fairs or exhibitions, for edutainment and advertising or as an interactive shop window in pedestrian zones and shopping centers.
