The Point S Germany GmbH is an independent German cooperation for tire, wheel and auto repair . The Point S service network consists of more than 3,300 independent Point S companies in Europe.
Company history
In 1983, Partner GmbH was founded by five independent tire dealers with the aim of creating an efficient purchasing association . Due to the increasing nationwide opening of this cooperation to other medium-sized tire dealers, Partner GmbH already comprised 49 shareholders in 1986. In 1989 Reifen Ring GmbH was founded , which also gave smaller tire dealers the opportunity to cooperate. Both the Partner GmbH and Reifen Ring merged into the later Point S Deutschland GmbH. The cooperation between independent tire dealers offered joint purchasing and sales strategies, simplified organizational and work processes, the use of joint EDP / IT systems and a uniform marketing strategy. At the same time, the entrepreneurial self-determination and independence of each individual tire dealer is preserved within the cooperation.
In addition to the expansion of the Germany-wide cooperation network of independent tire dealers, the establishment of a Europe-wide dealer network was intensified in the following years, the activities of which were increasingly managed and coordinated centrally by Ober-Ramstadt. Against this background, the European Tire Coordination Committee (GEIE) was founded. In 2001 the dealer network was expanded to include Poland, Spain and Denmark. At the beginning of 2002, Hungary joined the GEIE as the eighth country organization. In 2002, Partner GmbH (Germany), SEDA (France), Pneus Service (Italy), Reifen Partner (Austria), Daek Ringen (Denmark), Mega Opony (Poland) and Neumaticos Aragon (Spain) joined Point S international AG Based in Ober-Ramstadt. At the end of 2006, Point S Development was founded, which ten more countries joined in the following year. This makes Point S Development the most extensive network of independent tire dealers in Europe to this day.
Offer / services
The range of products and services from Point S includes tires, wheels and car service. 3,300 Point S service centers are operated in Europe. The tire and wheel sector includes car, motorcycle and commercial vehicle tires. In addition to the products of established tire manufacturers, the tire range also includes car tires from the Summerstar and Winterstar brands. In the past few years, Point S has received the Fleet Award from the specialist magazine Autoflotte as “Germany's Best Tire Service”.
The car service area consists of the services inspection, oil service, glass service, general inspection according to § 29 StVZO, wheel alignment, shock absorbers, brake service, air conditioning service, car electrics, battery service and exhaust service. The repair and maintenance of the vehicles is carried out across all brands.
