POIs are points of sale that are of particular importance for the sale of products. The POIs can be used in different sales channels to promote a specific product. POI refers to a place where interested parties can find out more about products from one or more providers, e.g. B. trade, trade fairs, public places (via a kiosk system ), at home (e.g. via the Internet). A multimedia system is often responsible for conveying information. Due to the increasing spread of electronic business and the integration of ordering options, the POI is more and more frequently identical to the point of sale (POS).
