The Diocese of Purwokerto ( lat. : Dioecesis Purvokertensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Purwokerto .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Purwokerto with the Breve Magna animi on May 15, 1952 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia .
She was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate on October 16, 1941 . It was raised on January 3, 1961 to the diocese, which was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Semarang as a suffragan .
