The Diocese of Timika ( lat. : Dioecesis Timikaënsis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Timika .

history

The Diocese of Timika was established on December 19, 2003 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Supernum evangelizationis from cession of territory by the Diocese of Jayapura and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Merauke as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was John Philip Saklil .
