The diocese of Ketapang ( lat. : Dioecesis Ketapangensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Ketapang .

history

The diocese of Ketapang was on June 14, 1954 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Pontianak as Apostolic Prefecture Ketapang . The Apostolic Prefecture of Ketapang was founded on January 3, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pontianak as a suffragan . On April 9, 1968, the diocese of Ketapang gave up parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Sekadau .
