history
The diocese Larantuka was on March 8, 1951 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Vicariate Apostolic Lesser Sunda Islands as Vicariate Apostolic Larantuka . The Larantuka Apostolic Vicariate was founded on January 3, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ raised to the diocese and subordinated to the archdiocese of Ende as a suffragan .
