The Diocese of Padang ( lat. : Dioecesis Padangensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Padang .

history

The diocese Padang was on June 19, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Palembang as the Apostolic Prefecture of Padang . The Padang Apostolic Prefecture was founded on January 3, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Medan as a suffragan .
