The Diocese of Manokwari-Sorong ( lat. : Dioecesis Manokvariensis Sorongensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Sorong .

history

Pope John XXIII founded the Apostolic Prefecture Manokwari with the Apostolic Constitution Cum in iis on December 19, 1959 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Hollandia .

With the Apostolic Constitution Pro suscepto she was raised to the diocese on November 15, 1966. On May 14, 1974 the diocese took its current name.
