The Diocese of Manado ( lat. : Dioecesis Manadoensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Manado .
history
The diocese of Manado was on November 19, 1919 by Pope Benedict XV. Established from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Batavia as the Apostolic Prefecture of Celebes . On February 1, 1934, the Apostolic Prefecture of Celebes was founded by Pope Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Magno perfundimur raised to the Apostolic Vicariate . The Apostolic Vicariate of Celebes gave up on April 13, 1937 parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture Makassar . On April 13, 1937, the Apostolic Vicariate of Celebes was renamed Apostolic Vicariate Manado .
On January 3, 1961, the Apostolic Vicariate Manado was by Pope John XXIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Makassar as a suffragan .
