The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sintang ( lat. : Dioecesis Sintangensis ) is in Indonesia located Roman Catholic diocese based in Sintang , West Borneo .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Prefecture Sintang on March 11, 1948 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Pontianak . With the Apostolic Constitution Cum ingenti she was raised to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate on April 23, 1956 .

On January 3, 1961, she was raised to the rank of diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pontianak as a suffragan diocese.
