Martinus Dogma Situmorang OFMCap (born March 28, 1946 in Palipi , Indonesia ; † November 19, 2019 in Bandung ) was an Indonesian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Padang .

Life

Martinus Dogma Situmorang entered the religious order of the Capuchin and received on 5 January 1974, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Pematang Siantar and at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1974–1976). After completing his studies in November 1979, Father Martinus became rector of the Pematang Siantar High Seminary (1979–1983).

On March 17, 1983 appointed him Pope John Paul II. The bishop of Padang . The Archbishop of Medan , Alfred Gonti Pius Datubara OFMCap, donated him episcopal ordination on June 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop emeritus of Padang, Raimundo Cesare Bergamin SX , and the bishop of Sibolga , Anicetus Bongsu Antonius Sinaga OFMCap. His episcopal motto was “Fides per Caritatem Operatur” (works of faith through love).

Martinus Dogma Situmorang was chairman of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference for the period 2006–2009 and 2009–2012.
