Alfred Gonti Pius Datubara OFMCap (born February 12, 1934 in Lawe Bekung ) is retired Archbishop of Medan .
Life
Alfred Gonti Pius Datubara joined the order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on February 22, 1964 by the Archbishop of Medan , Antoine Henri van den Hurk, OFMCap .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 5, 1975 titular bishop of Novi and auxiliary bishop in Medan. The Archbishop of Semarang , Justinus Cardinal Darmojuwono , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Antoine Henri van den Hurk OFMCap, Archbishop of Medan, and Raimondo Cesare Bergamin SX , Bishop of Padang .
On May 24, 1976 he was appointed Archbishop of Medan. On February 12, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
