Pointe de la Courtine is a prominent rocky outcrop on the Alabaster Coast in Normandy in France .

The white chalk cliff , interspersed with brown-black layers of flint , is part of the municipality of Étretat . To the south is the Plage du Tilleul beach , which extends to the Pointe du Fourquet . To the north is the famous Manneporte rock formation .

As part of the cliff, the ledge protrudes about 100 meters to the northwest into the English Channel and reaches a height of up to 36 meters. There are several holes and dents in its western front. During the period in which pebbles were collected commercially on the steep coast , these cavities were used for the temporary storage of collected pebbles at low tide . During the high tide, the stones were taken from there into boats. Particularly noticeable is a hole piercing the ledge, reminiscent of a keyhole .
