Pole distance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In astronomy, the term pole distance (or polar distance ) describes the angular distance of a star from the north celestial pole . The angular distance is counted from the north celestial pole over the celestial equator to the south celestial pole from 0 ° to 180 °.

The pole distance is the complementary angle to the declination ,
just as the cobaltitude is complementary to the latitude .
