Police Comics
Police Comics (dt. Police Comics ) was the title of a comic book series , the American US from 1941 to 1953 by the publishing house Quality Comics was published.
In addition to the eponymous “exciting police adventures”, each issue of Police Comic also contained other short stories, almost all of which can be assigned to the areas of humor , superheroes and crime stories .
Famous series and characters that were first published in the Police Comics were "Plastic Man" (from Police Comics # 1), "Manhunter" (from Police Comics #), "Phantom Lady", "The Human Bomb" and "Firebrand ". In addition, the comic strips designed by Will Eisner from the series The Spirit in Police Comics published in various daily newspapers were reprinted. The most popular of these features is the parodic superhero Plastic Man , created by Jack Cole , who graced the covers of issues # 5-102 and whose stories got the most page numbers within the individual issues of the series.
With issue # 103 of the series (December 1950) an attempt was made to stabilize the series, which was ailing at the time, by replacing the dramatically exaggerated adventure features in favor of more realistic detective and crime stories. After this approach also failed, the series was discontinued almost thirty issues later in 1953.
