Politi Anixi ( Greek Πολιτική Άνοιξη , Political Spring ) is a former Greek nationalist party .

The party was founded in June 1993 by the former Foreign Minister Andonis Samaras after he lost his position in the Mitsotakis government and left the conservative Nea Dimokratia party due to his nationalistic stance in the dispute over the name of Macedonia .

The split brought about the end of Mitsotaki's government and, after the parliamentary elections in 1993, the return of the opposition party PASOK to power.

The Political Spring achieved the following election results:

In the Greek parliamentary elections in 2000 , the politic Anixi , which was in disintegration after these failures, no longer took part; its party leader Samaras publicly supported the Nea Dimokratia and thus prepared the ground for his return to this party and the continuation of his political career. Before the Greek parliamentary elections in 2004 , Samaras rejoined the Nea Dimokratia and was elected MEP in the 2004 European elections. In the parliamentary elections in 2007 Samaras was elected to the Greek parliament and was Minister of Culture from January 2009 until the defeat in the parliamentary elections in 2009 . In November 2009 he was elected chairman of the Nea Dimokratia.
