Political Headquarters
Political Headquarters is the name for the highest party organization within the army of a socialist country. These organizations served to enforce the "leading role of the Communist Party" within the military of the respective countries:
- Political Main Administration (NVA) , until 1961 Political Administration (PV), then Political Main Administration (PHV), department in the Ministry for National Defense of the GDR
- Political Headquarters (KVP) , Barracked People's Police
- Main Political Administration (Polish People's Army) (Polish: Główny Zarząd Polityczno-Wychowawczy Wojska Polskiego ), existed from 1944 to 1989 in the Polish People's Army
- Main Political Administration (Red Army) (Russian: Главное политическое управление Красной Армии), the main political administration of the Red Army in the Soviet Union
- Main Political Administration (People's Liberation Army) (Chinese: 总政治部), main political organ of the Central Military Commission in the Chinese People's Liberation Army
