The Polish Association of Plastics Processors (pl: Polskie Stowarzyszenie Przetwórców Tworzyw Sztucznych, PSPTS) was established in 1992 as the organization of plastics processors active on the Polish market. In 2006, PSPTS joined the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) association, which represents plastics converters at the level of the European Union.
In 2009 the PSPTS was transformed into the Polish Association of Plastic Processors Employers (pl: Polski Związek Przetwórców Tworzyw Sztucznych, PZPTS) by joining the largest organization of Polish employers - the “Lewiatan Confederation” .
Organization of the association
The organs of the association are the general assembly of members, the supervisory board and the executive board. The association also has an advisory body, the Expert Council. Members of the PZPTS can become employers in plastics processing active in the Republic of Poland or employers indirectly connected with the plastics processing industry.
activity
The main objective of the association is to protect the rights and represent the interests of the employers belonging to the association by advising on draft legal provisions, informing members, disseminating knowledge about plastics, creating the right image for the industry and promoting of environmentally friendly behavior and corresponding initiatives. The association also organizes annual meetings of the plastics processing industry. The organisation's press organ is the quarterly “Tworzywa”. PZPTS is the honorary patron of the Plastpol trade fair for plastics and rubber processing, which takes place every year in Kielce (Poland), and the Kompozyt-Expo [for composite materials, technologies and products] trade fair, which takes place in Krakow (Poland). Since 2015, the association has been donating prizes for the best master’s and doctoral theses in the field of plastics processing in order to promote this area of industry and the associated environmental activities.
