The Ponte Romano in Aquila TI in the Blenio Valley is a stone arch bridge built in 1461 . It is one of the oldest preserved stone arch bridges in Switzerland. The bridge was restored in 1965 and 1975.
The bridge used to be the main road through the Blenio Valley and crossed the Brenno . Both the river and the main road were relocated, so that the bridge no longer has any function today. Today there is a road under the bridge that opens up some hamlets and is not continuous.
