Pony motos
Pony Motos is a moped brand of the Swiss manufacturer Amsler & Co. The mopeds have been manufactured in almost unchanged form since 1961.
Manufacturing
The mopeds are manufactured by Amsler & Co. AG in Feuerthalen , Switzerland , at times in cooperation with Sachs . For several years Amsler had the mopeds assembled by the Austrian company KTM , which is why the mopeds are sometimes also referred to as KTM Pony . Many parts of the mopeds (e.g. the speedometer drive) continue to come from KTM.
The newer pony mopeds are equipped with a motor from the Italian company Beta and a 2-speed automatic transmission with a centrifugal clutch . Such a beta two-stroke engine has a displacement of 49.9 cm³ and makes 1.2 hp . The new pony mopeds are available in two versions, on the one hand the "GTX" and the second variant the "Cross".
Until a few years ago, pony mopeds were always equipped with Sachs motors (models 502, 503, 504), but these are no longer produced. There are currently many ponies with Sachs engines on Swiss roads.
