Sachs 503

The Sachs 503 is a single-cylinder moped engine from the German manufacturer Fichtel & Sachs in Schweinfurt . The engine was sold exclusively in Switzerland . The cylinder lies and has a bore of 38 mm. The engine has a displacement of 47 cm³. It has been offered with a total of 4 different gears and 2 different versions since the 1960–1970s. There were fan-cooled and airstream-cooled models. At first a manual transmission was used, later a 2-speed automatic with a centrifugal clutch followed . A 2-speed automatic was initially offered as the last version. The new Sachs 503 are equipped with black colored gear and fan covers. However, the previous engines were already fan-cooled. You can still see them many times on the Swiss streets today.

Manual motors

The manual motors had the designations 2Al and 2Bl. They deliver 0.6 kW (0.8 PS) at 3000 rpm. They are still very popular today because of their robustness and modesty.

Automatic motors

There were a total of 5 different automatic models. They deliver 0.8 kW (1.2 hp) at 3800 rpm. Fan-cooled motors are designated ABL-CH and AAL-CH. There was AC-CH, AB-CH and ADV-CH for the airflow-cooled .
