Pororo

Pororo the little penguin ( Hangeul : 뽀롱 뽀롱 뽀로로 , Porong Porong Pororo ) is a computer-animated television series developed by the South Korean animation studios Iconix Entertainment and produced in a co-production with the North Korean company Samchŏlli in Kaesŏng . Production began in 2002, and a year later, the Korean learning and education broadcaster EBS-TV started broadcasting. The series is also currently being broadcast in France , Hong Kong , India, Taiwan and Scandinavia .

Pororo is a small penguin that lives in Antarctica . He and his friends experience many adventures: Poby the polar bear , Loopy the beaver , Harry the hummingbird , Crong the dinosaur , Petty the penguin and Eddy the fox .

Pororo longingly dreams of flying and several episodes report on his misfortunes. He's always making mischief or trying to play pranks on his friends. His home is in a snowy alpine landscape, where he lives in a snow hut with his friend Crong, the non-speaking dinosaur.

Crong is a baby dinosaur that one day by chance Pororo found in the not yet hatched dinosaur egg (episode 1). The unsuspecting Pororo thinks about making a delicious omelette at home. After deciding to roll the egg home, he is suddenly surprised when the shell begins to break and the little dinosaur hatches. Pororo is the first person Crong sees, and he believes he is a parent. As a result, Crong is always seen in the house with Pororo and Crong plays the role of closest friend in the many adventures.

Loopy is the only female character until Petty appears on the series. She loves cooking and art. Pororo and Eddy are always trying to get their attention. Often portrayed as the mother of the young friends, she mostly solves the problems that arise in the plot. Loopy lives in a huge hollow tree trunk.

Poby's home is in an ice cave. His main interests are photography and ice fishing. He is portrayed as a gentle giant who often supports the group with wise advice.

Eddy is the group's intellectual. In most of the episodes, he invents new machines, from trains and gigantic robots to rockets. However, the majority of his inventions fail and put him and his friends in dangerous situations. Although Pororo is his best friend, the two always rival each other. Eddy's home is a giant tree stump.
