PortableDSL ( English portable for "portable", DSL for Digital Subscriber Line ) is a name for a type of data connection.

properties

PortableDSL is not mobile, it is portable, which means you can use it in different places, but not when traveling from one place to another. A portableDSL connection is supplied by a radio network .

There is one basic radio technology: Wideband CDMA (WCDMA).

  • Usable frequencies:
    • 1.1 1,900–1,920 MHz ( TDD )
    • 1.2 1,920–1,980 MHz ( FDD uplink)
    • 2.1 2,020–2,025 MHz (TDD)
    • 2.2 2.110–2.170 MHz ( FDD - Downlink )
  • Channel bandwidth: 5 MHz
  • Chip rate at FDD: 3.84 Mcps
  • User separation: code (CDMA); Frequency ( FDMA )

These 2 channels are characteristic of a DSL connection. A radio mode sends / receives data via these channels. Own SIM card and a PPPoE - client should be the last identification tests. PortableDSL uses 3G security standards. The air interface is encrypted with 128- bit keys, which in turn are sent randomly. The IP address is also assigned dynamically.

The key data of the product sold in Germany under PortableDSL are:

  • Frequency range: 2500 MHz to 2686 MHz
  • Chip rate: 3.84 Mcps at 5 MHz channel bandwidth
  • Chip rate: 7.68 Mcps at 10 MHz channel bandwidth
  • Duplex method: TDD, acc. 3GPP
  • User separation: TD-CDMA
  • Modem manufacturer: IPWireless

Authentication takes place via a USIM card .

Speeds

Common data transmission rates are PortableDSL 128 (128 k bit / s download and 64 kbit / s upload -Speed) and PortableDSL 1024 (1024 kbit / s download and 128 kbit / s upload speed).
