Moschendorf porcelain factory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Moschendorf porcelain factory was founded in Hof-Moschendorf in 1878 and closed in 1957.

history

The founders were the farmer Hermann Kühnert from Etzdorf near Eisenberg (Thuringia) and Magnus Tischer from Neuhaus am Rennweg . Kühnert was related to the porcelain manufacturer Hermann Reinecke from Eisenberg. In 1895 the Kühnert & Tischer OHG porcelain factory was converted to the Moschendorf AG porcelain factory. In 1906 600 workers are employed and the managing director is Johannes Bacher. In 1907 Paul Reinecke from Eisenberg took the place of Kühnert as co-owner. Paul and Otto were the sons of the porcelain manufacturer Hermann Reinecke from Eisenberg. On November 12, 1909, Otto Reinecke became director. In 1900 and 1910 she was named as a member of the Association of German Porcelain Factories (VDP). From 1937 Otto Reinecke was the sole owner. In 1957 the factory was closed.

Products

In 1906 consumer goods and luxury items are produced. Sample stores were maintained in Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Copenhagen, etc. From 1915 to 1957, porcelain with a straw decoration was made. There were the following forms: Form 1457 (around 1910), Form conical (around 1915), Form Feston (wavy edge) (approx. 1920–1957) and Form 1710 (1930–1935). The chocolate maid service is also well known. The porcelain was sold to Berlin and exported to America, Sweden, Denmark and Italy.

Factory mark

The most famous factory mark is a green stamp mark. It shows a monogram with the letters “P” and “M”, whereby the first stroke of the M is identical to the lower stroke of the P. This is framed by a laurel wreath and a crown on top. Under the wreath it says “Moschendorf”, underneath it “BAVARIA”.
