The Posenmühle was a mill in Posen , the later district of Knau within the city of Neustadt an der Orla in Thuringia . After it was closed, the mill was used as a holiday home for the Deutsche Reichsbahn until 1990 . Since then, the mill has served as a country house and guesthouse, mainly to accommodate groups of children and school classes.

The Posenmühle also has its own railway stop on the Triptis – Marxgrün railway line and also had its own rural post office.

In 2018, a residential facility for children and young people opened in the building.
